Ray Jaramis raises money for Kiss the Frog Foundation in inaugural charity bike ride
Ray Jaramis took part in a 100km bike ride – Tour de Frog – in the picturesque Hunter Valley on Saturday 22 October to raise funds for Kiss the Frog Foundation.
Kiss the Frog Foundation (KTF) was created in 2009 to raise funds to subsidise the extensive rehabilitation costs of Joshua Clift, who became an incomplete quadriplegic in 2008 following two serious accidents.
All funds raised at the event will be used to support Joshua with the medical rehabilitation, equipment and services that are integral to achieving a successful recovery and creating long-term independence after his spinal injuries. It costs roughly $250,000 annually to be a quadriplegic after suffering a cervical spinal injury.
A portion of the money raised this year will also go to someone facing a similar challenge, Dom Punch. Dom broke his neck last year playing for Maitland in the rugby union grand final. Funds provided will assist him with his on-going recovery process and help him to meet the financial challenges faced by him and his family.
Joshua and Dom face challenges every day that most of us cannot fathom – they are a true inspiration and Ray is proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and much-needed funds.
