Don’t be fooled by the latest phone scam – did you get a nasty voice message from the ATO?

By March 12, 2018No Comments

In March 2018, scammers have been leaving people voicemail messages threatening the recipients with arrest due to an unknown tax debt or suspected tax evasion.

The scammers claim to be from the ATO and many threaten that a warrant for the person’s arrest will be issued if they do not call the scammer back on the phone number provided.

This is fake.  If you receive a voicemail like this, do not return the call!

If you are unsure if a phone call or voicemail is from the ATO, call 1800 008 540.
